Koreans worked for 47 hours and 30 minutes a week on average last year, 24 minutes less than the previous year, earning 1.643 million won a month, according to a survey released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) yesterday.
통계청이 어제 발표한 자료에 따르면, 지난 해 한국인은 전해보다 24분 줄어든 주당 평균 47.5시간 일했고, 한 달에 164만3천 원을 벌었다.

The survey showed the wage gap between male and female workers has been narrowing, but the average wage of female workers still remained at 63.2 percent of that of male workers. The average work hours of female employees were shorter at 97.5 percent of those of male workers.
조사 결과 남녀간 임금 격차는 좁아지고 있지만, 여성 노동자의 평균 임금은 남성 노동자의 63.2%에 불과하다는 사실이 드러났다. 여성 종업원의 평균 노동시간은 남성의 97.5%로 조금 짧았다.

97.7 percent (45.94 million) of the nation's total population benefited from medical insurance, with per capita medical insurance costs reaching 157,000 won a year.
전체 인구의 97.7%(4,594만 명)가 의료보험 혜택을 받고 있으며, 1인당 의료보험 비용은 한해 157,000원이다.

There was an average of 3.1 family members per household last year. Korean men had their first child at 28.3 in age on average, while women delivered their first baby at 25.

nominal gross domestic product 명목국내총생산
Nominal gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 517.1 trillion won last year, up 7.1 percent from the previous year. Per capita gross national income totaled 10.89 million won, also up 7.1 percent from the year before.
지난해 명목국내총생산은 전해보다 7.1%로 오른 517.1조 원이었고, 1인당 국민소득은 1,089만 원으로 전년보다 7.1% 올랐다.

According to the survey, Koreans mostly spent their leisure hours watching TV (62.7 percent), resting or sleeping (50.7 percent), doing household chores (33.5 percent) or meeting friends (32.3 percent).
